Judy Ann Brown
Mathematics Program Manager, Sylvan Learning
Judy Ann Brown has more than 30 years experience in the field of Mathematics Education. Currently, she is the Mathematics Program Manager for Sylvan Learning. In this position, she oversees the mathematics content of the programs offered in all Sylvan Learning centers in the US and Canada.
Previously, Judy served as the Mathematics Director at Words & Numbers, where she worked with a team of curriculum developers to deliver mathematics content for use in basal texts, teacher resource materials, supplemental materials, assessment items, and technology products. While the Director of Mathematics Curriculum for Kaplan K12 Learning Services, she led the mathematics team in the development of core curriculum materials, supplemental materials, and assessment tests.
While at the Math Forum, Judy was the Problems of the Week Administrator and Professional Development Coordinator. In this position, she worked with a team to create and administer online problems for students and teachers around the world. Judy created web resources and helped to introduce teachers to these and other mathematics resources available on the Internet. She also worked with the Ask Dr. Math and Teacher2Teacher teams to provide additional web resources.
Judy spent more than 20 years in the classroom teaching mathematics in grades 6 through 12. She was also a Department Head; Lead Teacher in a Leadership Program in Discrete Mathematics; Lead Teacher in a DIMACS Research and Education Institute on Computational Geometry and Mathematical Visualization; Adjunct Professor at Allentown College; and presenter at National Council Teachers of Mathematics regional and national conferences.
Judy received a B.S. in Mathematics Education from College Misericordia and a M.S. in Educational Technology from Lehigh University.
